I have been shopping a lot lately! It always amazes me how we think we are less than or more than in this case.
The woman I want to reference was in a change room and not a client of mine, but another woman shopping. The interesting thing about this story is, she was not my client, but I really wanted to share what happened in the shopping experience for her. My lovely client was in the change room and we were venturing the end of our shopping expedition. (at that store anyway!)
The woman comes out looking for the saleswoman to find a smaller size in a sleeveless knitted top that she had paired with a skirt. I smiled at her and she smiles back saying oh, this is too tight here, The here was around her chest area. I replied with an automatic, well actually it looks as if you need a petite. She smiles at me and listens to where I feel she may benefit from having a petite garment. From my experience and perspective, her proportions and the ill-fit of the garment were such that a petite size would be an option for her to consider.
The store did not have that selected piece in Petite, so she didn't buy the garment. Yes! She then tried on some other garments in Petite, which looked great, much to the chagrin of her friend who disagreed. In the end, the woman was smiling, which was very nice to see.
When I measure clients for their style lines, they often have opinions about their bodies that do not meausure up to the results! Usually, the results are so much more positive than the clients were on themselves. If this sparks or peaks your interest in having your body measured so that you will feel empowered to know as opposed to someone who does not, check out my website under personal services.
